• UMBILICAL HERNIOPLASTY

An umbilical hernia repair is an operation to return an umbilical hernia to your abdomen (tummy) and to repair the weak area in your abdominal wall that caused the hernia. You can get an umbilical hernia if a weakness develops in your abdominal wall in the area around your belly button (where your umbilical cord was attached as a baby). This allows your abdominal lining, some internal fat or even a loop of your bowel to push forward through the weak area to create a lump in or around your belly button.

• LAPARASCOPIC CHOLECYSTECTOMY

Surgical procedure to remove your gallbladder. Your gallbladder collects and stores bile — a digestive fluid produced in your liver. A cholecystectomy is performed to treat cholelithiasis and cholecystitis. In cholelithiasis, gallstones of varying shapes and sizes form from the solid components of bile. The presence of these stones, often referred to as gallbladder disease, may produce symptoms of excruciating right upper abdominal pain radiating to the right shoulder. The gallbladder may become the site of acute infection and inflammation, resulting in symptoms of upper right abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. This condition is referred to as cholecystitis. The surgical removal of the gallbladder can provide relief of these symptoms.

• INGUINAL HERNIOPLASTY (UNILATERAL OR BILATERAL)

An inguinal hernia is a protrusion of abdominal-cavity contents through the inguinal canal. They are very common (lifetime risk 27% for men, 3% for women). Hernias present as bulges in the groin area that can become more prominent when coughing, straining, or standing up. Inguinal hernias occur when soft internal tissue pokes through a tear or weak area in the wall of the abdomen. Weakness in the abdominal wall can be residual from birth or can occur later in life resulting from muscle deterioration caused by strenuous activity, lifestyle, or age.

• UNILATERAL VARICOCELECTOMY

A varicocelectomy is a surgical procedure that is performed to remove a varicocele. Varicoceles are veins which are located in the testicles. The vein is similar to a varicose vein found in the legs. Many times, varicoceles occur on the left portions of the scrotum and typically appear after puberty. A varicocele will not just go away; a varicocelectomy is required in many cases in order to correct the condition. The benefit of a varicocelectomy is that it will typically improve male fertility as well as relieve discomfort and pain.
